Papas Fritas

Add a little Mexican spice to your homemade hot chips with Fancy Hanks taco seasoning. Oven roasted to perfection, serve along side any BBQ meat for a relaxed weekend dinner.

Ingredients

  • 6 Large potatoes, about 1.6kg

  • 2 Tbsp olive oil

  • 2 Tbsp Fancy Hanks taco seasoning

  • Smokey chilli salt, to serve

Method

  1. Heat the oven to 200c/ 180C fan/gas 6. Peel the potatoes and cut them into long chip shapes – about the width of a finger is ideal. Rinse under the cold tap and pat dry with a tea towel.

  2. Spread the chips on a large non-stick baking tray and toss with the olive oil and taco seasoning. Lie them flat in a single layer – use two trays if needed.

  3. Roast for 40 mins, turning now and then. When cooked they should be golden brown and crisp with a light fluffy centre. Scatter on smokey chilli salt to serve.

    For a dipping sauce mix 4-5 tbsp of mayo with the taco seasoning.
